Michael Roa Valdamjong

Story

Michael Roa Valdamjong is a vampire, the unofficial twenty-eighth of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors, and a former priest of the Holy Church. He is known as The Serpent of Akasha and The Infinite Reincarnator, which alludes to his ability to constantly reincarnate after entering Akasha, the source of all events and phenomena in the universe, no matter how many times he dies. His eighteenth and latest incarnation is SHIKI Tohno.

Originally Michael Roa Valdamjong was a priest of the Church, and he rose to the top very quickly by using all his father's inheritance. He and Narbareck created the "burial class", the base of today's Burial Agency. When his resources ran out, he decided to leave the church and gave the Agency to Narbareck. He wanted to realize immortality differently from that of Dead Apostles, but, trying to overcome his limits as an ordinary human, he reluctantly became a vampire in order to continue his research. When thinking of a way to become a Dead Apostle, he put his eyes on Arcueid Brunestud. He never noticed that he genuinely fell in love with her, but instead started hating her. Roa tricked her into drinking his blood when she became weak to her vampiric impulse. She sucked his blood right there, and he died immediately. After being brought back to life, Roa became distant from her and only met later to finish everything. He became a powerful Dead Apostle upon his revival. Roa quickly rose in power amongst the twenty-seven when he took the forces of the Dead Apostle Ancestors that had then been sealed by the Church. Over the next 700 years, he reincarnated 15 times, and he was endlessly killed by Arcueid each time.

Dark Elesia, later known as Ciel, was Roa's seventeenth incarnation. She was born in 1976 to a baker's family in a remote village in France, 100 years after his 16th incarnation was destroyed by Arcueid. Dark Elesia's body had extremely high magical potential, which is the closest in power to his original body in all of his incarnations. Roa began manifesting on her sixteenth birthday and greatly enjoyed the amount of power the body gave him. Even though it would take him a long time to take over a city without status, he didn't mind waiting later to gain social standing. Using his new powers, Roa committed various atrocities against the citizens and slowly took over the city. After the city was completely under his control, he was inevitably hunted down by Arcueid, who managed to find him after two days of searching. He was killed, and Elesia's body was taken by the Church. She was finally reborn with her original personality without any influence from Roa, while Roa moved on to his 18th incarnation SHIKI Tohno.

Personality

Roa loved people, not as humans, but as a collective, and so resolved to record their deeds. One day, he understood he has not so much time to record everything and his life is too short to satisfy his need to learn and know everything. His despair grew more and more as he continued to work. As a result, he decided to become eternal by becoming a Vampire. 

After eight hundred years and seventeen reincarnations Roa as a person ceased to exist, and the rest of his soul can only be called a conceptualization of Roa's desire for immortality.

Playstyle

Roa constantly rips apart opponents with quick and ambiguous normal and special attacks. He is also good at pressing opponents at close range with his strong rebeats and controlling mid-range with his lightning bolts, but his airborne normal and go-to anti-air attacks have poor coverage.

Appearance

Roa's form depends on the body he currently inhabits, but he can change it to suit his preferences. The longer hairstyle that Roa originally appears with is the result of the long-term influence of his host body, SHIKI Tohno. Also, he has Mystic Eyes and uses them to aim for lines when fighting. His outfit in SHIKI's body is practically identical to his original design, His white dress shirt now has silver cufflinks in the shape of a cross, and his black trousers now have a brown leather belt with a silver cross-shaped buckle.
