Terry grew up on the street with his younger brother Andy. Children have left orphans early and are forced to learn life's rules independently. They were later adopted by Jeff Bogard, who taught them martial arts as he was a strong master.
The brothers later parted ways because they learned of their father's death at the hands of Geese Howard and Andy decided to move to Japan to learn Shiranui-Ryuu Ninjutsu under Hanzo Shiranui while Terry stayed in the US.
He also appreciates his friendship with Joe and feels a kindred spirit in Blue Mary for her loss. Terry also takes care of Rock as his son, teasingly calling him "Rookie," and ultimately allows the guy to choose his path in life.
Terry is very charismatic, kind, and friendly with everyone around, despite the difficulties that he has to go through in life. He does not lose heart, although he does not find a permanent job and is forced to do part-time earnings.
He respects his younger brother and honors him as a master of combat, regarding him as his most formidable opponent in life but also his most devoted partner.
Terry owns a unique fighting style that combines boxing, karate, kung fu, kickboxing, and street fighting moves. He uses various punches, such as hooks and uppercuts, and combines them with kicks.
His Power Dunk and Crack Shoot signature moves are inspired by basketball, as the character is a big fan of the sport.
Terry wears a vest, fingerless gloves, jeans, sneakers, and a red and white trucker cap. He has yellow hair and blue eyes like his younger brother Andy.
