Bio

A while ago, Katalina was pretty loyal to the Erste Empire. As an imperial knight, she even became a lieutenant. But then, one mission ruined her career — for good.

Katalina had to guard a girl with the amazing ability to control primal beasts, Lyria. The Empire wanted to conduct thorough research and cruel experiments and then use their results (and probably Lyria herself) for some evil purposes. That did not look fair for Katalina, and she abandoned her military post and became a bodyguard and a friend for Lyria.

Katalina helped Lyria escape the Empire. In fact, she organized this operation. The girls met Gran, and thus their wonderful adventure began…

In the fighting game story, Katalina was shortly separated from the party, but when Gran and Lyria found her, they met an imperial lieutenant again. Some mystic powers interfered with the memory of Katalina, and she suddenly led a bunch of soldiers to capture Lyria. Gran managed to defeat the beast that caused that mayhem and return Katalina to her senses. The further journey were made with the group of friends, and Katalina had a chance to participate in a battle or two.

Personality

The girl is kind of strict and very logical. These qualities naturally help Katalina build a career in the Empire’s army. And they also are essential for the adventures with Gran and Lyria.

Katalina is pretty loyal. But her loyalty is strongly based on justice. She is certainly ready to accept her mistakes and change her beliefs and actions if she feels something is wrong. This approach makes Katalina a good friend for people with proper moral values.

With all her close-to-perfect skills, Katalina still has some weaknesses. She can’t cook at all. And her sense of direction could be much better.

Playstyle

In the fights of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Katalina is a Shoto character with a nicely well-rounded moveset. She is quite often compared to Gran — and their fighting styles are really similar. Both characters are versatile and beginner-friendly. But Katalina has the advantage of longer normals. And she can deal bigger damage. Her big hurtboxes and basic projectile are rather downsides. The common Shoto thing of not prevailing in anything is true for Katalina too.

Appearance

Katalina looks like a brave knight in her armor and with her sword. The girl has long hair and wears a cloak. Her freezing magic nicely corresponds with blueish colors, but you sure can change Katalina’s outfit in the game.
