Biography
Story
Wolfgang Krauser von Stroheim is one of Fatal Fury’s classic boss characters and the main antagonist of Fatal Fury 2. Known as the “Emperor of Darkness,” he ruled from the upper end of society while also controlling the criminal underworld, making him less of a street-level boss and more of an aristocratic tyrant with a fighting obsession. SNK Wiki identifies him as Geese Howard’s half-brother and Rock Howard’s half-uncle, giving him a direct connection to South Town’s central power struggle.
Krauser was once believed to have fallen after fighting Terry Bogard, but Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves makes it clear those rumors were spread by his own son. Years later, that same son now has a tournament of his own, and Krauser sees it as the perfect chance to return and take revenge. Subtle family reunion. Very normal. No emotional damage detected.
In City of the Wolves, Krauser returns as a Season 2 DLC character, bringing back the overwhelming boss presence that made him one of Fatal Fury’s most intimidating villains. His role is not about redemption or rebuilding himself. He is back because power was taken from him, and he wants the world to remember why it feared him.
Appearance
Wolfgang Krauser is a huge German aristocrat with long blond hair, blue eyes, and a heavy, commanding build. In City of the Wolves, he appears older and more battle-worn, with a sharp scar across his forehead and gold armor pieces worked into his design. His outfit keeps the noble-warrior image from his older appearances while making him look even more like a walking final boss.
Gameplay
Krauser is a well-rounded bully character built around screen control, high damage, and oppressive neutral. He has long-reaching normals, strong projectiles, advancing specials, an anti-air grab, and an armored command grab, giving him answers at several ranges. Dream Cancel describes him as a character who can overwhelm opponents anywhere on the screen through reach, damage, and raw presence.
His Blitz Ball is central to his long-range game. Krauser can throw it high or low, hold it to change timing, and use it to make opponents hesitate before moving. His Leg Tomahawk also gives him a huge forward-moving threat, especially after the opponent blocks a projectile. Once he scores a clean hit, he can cash out with heavy damage and continue pressure through hard knockdowns, charged Blitz Ball, or Kaiser Wave.
Krauser is strong, simple to understand, and beginner-friendly by boss-character standards, but he is not brainless. His size and commitment can still be punished, and predictable fireball or advancing-special habits will get checked.
