Biography

Story

Terry Bogard is one of South Town’s most famous fighters and the main hero of the Fatal Fury series. He and his younger brother Andy were orphaned as children and adopted by Jeff Bogard. After Jeff was killed by Geese Howard, Terry spent years training and eventually confronted Geese, becoming known as South Town’s “Legendary Hungry Wolf.”

After his final clash with Geese, Terry took in Rock Howard, Geese’s son, and raised him as his own. The two became almost inseparable, with Terry acting as Rock’s guardian, teacher, and closest family. Their bond changed after the events of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, when Rock left with Kain R. Heinlein to search for answers about his mother.

In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Terry is back on the streets of South Town after parting ways with Rock. When he hears about a new King of Fighters tournament, he realizes the city is pulling him into another major fight. Terry has already lived through revenge, loss, and responsibility, but South Town clearly isn’t done with him yet.

Appearance

Terry is a tall, muscular American man with blond hair. In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, he uses his older Garou-era look, wearing a brown flight jacket with a white fur collar, blue jeans, boots, and fingerless gloves. The jacket has a large star emblem on the back, replacing his classic red cap and vest while keeping the same recognizable Terry energy.

Gameplay

Terry is a rushdown-leaning all-rounder with strong approach tools, heavy damage, and straightforward pressure. His moves like Burning Knuckle, Crack Shoot, and Power Wave help him close space, start offense, and force opponents to respect his turn. He is also considered one of the easier characters to start with, but still has enough depth for experienced players.

His main weakness is opening up patient defenders. Terry has strong pressure and plus frames, but he lacks strong mix-up options outside universal tools, so he often has to win through pressure, frame traps, and good reads rather than layered high-low offense. In short, he is simple, honest, dangerous, and very Terry. No lab coat required, just clean timing and a willingness to run face-first into neutral.
