Biography

Story

Ken Masters is one of Street Fighter’s central characters and a guest fighter in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. He trained alongside Ryu under Gouken and became known for a fiery, aggressive version of Ansatsuken, built around moves like Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku. Unlike Ryu, Ken has always had more flash to him: rich family, big ego, fast mouth, and the skill to back most of it up.

In City of the Wolves, Ken arrives in South Town after an incident he was blamed for. He is looking for closure while carrying the same problems that followed him through Street Fighter 6: a damaged reputation, distance from his family, and unfinished business with the people who put him in that position. His path eventually brings him face-to-face with Terry Bogard, making the crossover feel less like a random guest slot and more like the old Capcom vs. SNK rivalry walking back into the room.

Ken is still cocky and hot-blooded, but his newer version has more weight behind him. He is not just the loud American rival anymore; he is a former champion fighting through disgrace, anger, and responsibility. Still Ken, though. He will absolutely yell the move name before ruining someone’s evening.

Appearance

Ken is an American man with blond hair and blue eyes. In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, he uses his modern Street Fighter 6-style look, wearing a long hooded brown jacket over a black shirt, red trousers, yellow gloves, and yellow high-top sneakers. He also wears a family necklace, keeping his personal life present even in his rougher South Town design.

His outfit makes him look less like a clean tournament fighter and more like a man who has been living out of trouble, work sites, and bad decisions. The red is still there, the fire is still there, but the classic rich-boy confidence has taken a few hits.

Gameplay

Ken is an offensive shoto with Street Fighter mechanics adapted into Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. He has the classic fireball, uppercut, and hurricane kick foundation, but also brings newer tools like Quick Dash, Dragonlash Kick, Jinrai Kick, strong command normals, and flexible combo routes. Dream Cancel notes that this version blends several eras of Ken rather than copying only his Street Fighter 6 version.

His biggest strengths are offense, anti-air damage, poking, and conversions. Ken’s Shoryuken is especially strong, his long-reaching normals can start pressure or combos, and his grounded overhead options make him annoying to block against. If he gets the right hit, he can carry opponents hard and cash out with strong damage.

His weaknesses come from commitment. Ken has no four-frame normal, and his dash is less flexible than most of the City of the Wolves cast. That means he can feel slower than expected and has to choose his approaches carefully.
