Biography
Story
Billy Kane is the loyal right-hand man of Geese Howard and one of the most recognizable villains in Fatal Fury. He first appeared in Fatal Fury: King of Fighters as one of Geese’s top enforcers, fighting with a long staff and making it very clear that his loyalty to Geese was not for show. SNK Wiki also notes that Billy’s early life was rough, as he grew up poor with his younger sister Lilly before Geese discovered his talent for staff fighting.
After Geese’s death, Billy did not simply disappear with the rest of the old guard. In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, he has taken control of the Howard Connection and is trying to figure out how to lead Geese’s former organization into a new era. Even with that responsibility, one thing still bothers him: Terry Bogard, the man he blames for taking his master away.
Billy is not written as a mindless thug. He is dangerous, violent, and heavily connected to South Town’s criminal world, but his loyalty, protectiveness toward Lilly, and respect for Geese give him more depth than the average henchman. He is still absolutely the kind of man who solves emotional conflict with a staff to the ribs, because South Town therapy is apparently not covered by insurance.
Appearance
Billy is a British man with blond hair and blue eyes. In City of the Wolves, he wears tinted glasses, a blue jacket with a large design on the back, black pants, gloves, and tall red-and-black boots. His signature red staff remains the center of his design, making him instantly recognizable even with the updated outfit.
Gameplay
Billy is a mid-range fighter who controls space with long-reaching staff normals and specials. His biggest strength is reach: he can hit opponents from ranges where many characters cannot comfortably fight back, then turn stray hits into confirms, pressure, or corner carry.
His pressure is also stronger than a simple “keep-away” label suggests. Billy has good buttons, strong light confirms, useful pressure tools, and flexible combo routes once he gets a clean hit. However, his defense is weak, with no meterless reversal and limited reliable anti-air options, so one bad mistake can snowball hard against him.
