Biography
Story
Andy Bogard is Terry Bogard’s younger brother and one of the original Fatal Fury protagonists. After Geese Howard killed their adoptive father, Jeff Bogard, Andy chose a different path from Terry and went to Japan to train. There, he learned Shiranui-style ninjutsu and Koppōken under Hanzo Shiranui, turning himself into a precise, disciplined martial artist rather than a street fighter.
Andy returned to South Town to help Terry and Joe Higashi challenge Geese’s King of Fighters tournament. He failed to reach Geese himself, but Terry’s victory gave him some closure, and Andy went back to Japan to keep sharpening his skills. Over the years, he remained close to Terry and Joe while also becoming tied to the Shiranui clan through Mai Shiranui and his student Hokutomaru.
In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Andy works with Mai in the Shiranui clan’s village, helping train the next generation. With Hokutomaru now coming into his own, Andy wants to face him properly as both master and rival. At the same time, he still carries one major fight in his heart: the long-awaited contest with Terry, the man he has always wanted to surpass.
Appearance
Andy is a lean American man with blond hair and blue eyes. In City of the Wolves, he wears a sleeveless white gi-style top over a black underlayer, black pants with red accents, red gloves, and dark footwear. His updated design keeps the classic Shiranui martial artist look, but makes him look older, sharper, and less like someone who has time for anyone’s nonsense.
Gameplay
Andy is a straightforward pressure character who wants to get in, force mistakes, and punish them hard. He does not rely on a major secondary gimmick; instead, his game plan is built around strong mid-range control, pressure, command flip follow-ups, meaty overhead setups, and throw loops.
His neutral is strongest around mid-range. He has fireballs, but they are not meant to make him a full zoning character, so Andy still needs to move forward and take space.
