The top Japanese player joins a top Japanese team
Shogo Ishimine, better known as "Tyurara" has been announced as the latest signing for Zeta Division and will be the first player on their brand new Guilty Gear -STRIVE- division.
They made the announcement on the 15th of March 2025 in a post on social media.
The post reads:
"We are pleased to announce the establishment of the GUILTY GEAR division and that Tyurara will be joining the group.
"Check out the guilty strength of the world's No. 1 AWT ranking"
Tyurara had been with IBUSHIGIN which is home of current Capcom Cup champion Kakeru, but left them in February and is now part of Zeta.
Tyurara will represent Zeta at the Arc World Tour finals which takes place in a couple of days and would hope to make a splash there amongst the world's best. He is the top-ranked player in Japan on the AWT leaderboard ahead of the likes of Gobou, Tatuma, and Poka.
He responded to the announcement, putting out a short statement of his own:
"I have joined the ZETA DIVISION GUILTY GEAR division! We will work harder than ever to make the scene even more exciting. First up is the GUILTY GEAR World Championship "AWT2024" which is coming up in a week. We will fight with all our might to win the championship.
"Please support us!"
Zeta Division has dived right into the fighting game community in Japan as this latest move in entering the Guilty Gear -STRIVE- environment follows their first foray into Tekken 8 last year when they signed Double, Watanabe, and KEISUKE to the team. They followed this up by entering into a strategic partnership with Momochi and taking over his team's spot at Street Fighter League even though they are yet to announce any players for the game.
The AWT starts on the 21st of March to the 23rd and new champions will be crowned for the games in contention including Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, Granblue Fantasy Rising: Versus, and Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes.
