Your Only Move is Hustle: 8 Patches in 3 Days
First ever patch combo just dropped

Ivy Sly must be having a real fun week, as Your Only Move is Hustle (or YOMiH) is getting one patch after another. This is all following an absolutely massive patch from last week that brought a monumental amount of changes and tweaks, you can see the notes for it here.

This week, it was mostly a series of smaller patches, addressing urgent problems, or at least trying to. Anyone familiar with game development can attest, that even simple fixes can sometimes require the most convoluted efforts.

The combo starter, patch 1.8.5, came with a decent amount of important fixes and adjustments for every character ahead of the big tournament. It pinpointed some important issues with the blocking and a few balance issues caused by the gigapatch that came prior, you can find it here.

After that, each new patch was like a surgeon's stroke of a scalpel. Patch 1.8.6 fixed parry having -1 block advantage. Patch 1.8.7 addressed whiff block disadvantage not working properly, and adjusting the Foresight IASA.

The 1.8.8 made it look like a little polishing touch, fixing the last fix with the note saying "Previous fix went a little too far - God willing, whiffed block should be *exactly* -1 on block now". All seemed good now.

Until it wasn't. By Patch 1.8.9 the cracks started to show. "Do you ever just have a really silly day?" the patch notes said, coming with a modest list of important fixes.

Then 1.8.10 became a sudden twist in this complicated series of events. You might expect another fix or a character tweak... but no, it was a repeat of patch 1.8.6, the famous parry adjustment. Ivy provided a comment that shed some light on this situation, saying that "I dont wanna talk about it...".

Unfortunately, the cascade of patches was far from over at this point. Stealth performance hotfix eliminated the issue caused by one of the recent patches, specifically the game lag. As everything else stayed the same, the version number of the game remained unchanged.

This would not be the case for the next patch, putting us into the 1.8.11 era of YOMiH. This patch came with a fix to a strange stage interaction which allowed you to influence an opponent's hitstun and knockback by selecting different moves during a combo. Throw animation hitboxes were now able to trigger rumble and hitstop as well.

This brings us to the latest chapter of this journey, the 1.8.12. This patch could finally mark the end of the prediction lag, and the guard break moves are now carefully highlighted in the UI with love and care. With the final note saying:

## All Characters
- Hustle
- No longer causes the opponent to get sad.

Could the patch combo be over? We may never know...

(we will know if there's no patch for the rest of today or tomorrow)
