You Can Now Learn English With the Help of Dogura and Ricki Ortiz
The FGC is making their way into the textbooks.

A bit of amusing news comes our way from the Japanese side of Twitter, where Bushin (one of the best Slayer players in Guilty Gear Strive) has noticed something interesting in their university's English textbook.

The source quickly followed, Dogura and Ricki Ortiz share their textbook appearance thanks to NorthStar 4 Fifth Edition, from Tess Ferree and Kim Sanabria.

As fun as this is, it doesn't necessarily mean that the authors of the textbook are fighting game fans or anything like that. Judging by the snippets of the question, it seems like it's meant to be more relatable to the younger generation, with a topic revolving around someone having to choose between their studies and a competitive gaming career.

Being familiar with Japanese culture, perhaps the authors sought out a stock photo of people playing fighting games and ended up on Shutterstock, with the relevant image being tagged with "eSports athlete Ricki Ortiz of Evil Geniuses playing Street Fighter V at video game tournament NCR NorCal Regionals 2017."

This little discovery also led to another fun find, with one of Dogura's followers posting the 2019 Gamer's Edition of Guinness World Record book, where Dogura can be seen on the page that lists various top fighting game players alongside their mains.
