Yatagarasu Enter the Eastward to Have Delay Based Netcode
The indie gem might have ruined its release

Yatagarasu was a small indie title released in 2008 and developed by three SNK former employees. It was a fighting game reminscent of Street Fighter III and it had a cult following at the time. A sequel was released in 2015 to some mxed reviews, but general positivity from the fans.

So, when it was announced that a new Yatagarasu, Enter the Eastward, was being released, there was a lot of excitement as a new Yatagarasu game in 2024 was not on anyone's radar. But, the hopes of fans was soon deflated when it was announced that the game will feature delay-based netcode.

Fans were understandably upset at the announcement which they thought was indicative of a lack of touch with the fanbase and misunderstanding on what fans want. The game is set to feature 14 playable characters which is three more than the last game had. But, without rollback netcode, it seems fans are not just interested.

You can check out the trailer for the game below.

It will be released in the first quarter of 2024.
