Yasmine’s Popularity Surges Following Street Fighter 6 Trailer
The first filipino character has already seen her popularity skyrocket and is on track to be the most popular character reveal in the game

Yasmine, the latest character set to join the Street Fighter 6 roster, had her gameplay trailer released yesterday, and reactions to it have been widely positive.

Yasmine, a newcomer to the Street Fighter franchise, is the first Filipino character in the game, and many fans have complimented Capcom on its attention to detail regarding the character. She uses a karambit knife and fights using the Pencak Silat style, which players may already be familiar with through Smoke in Mortal Kombat 1.

Yasmine already appears to be growing in popularity, with her gameplay trailer sitting at 675,000 views on the official Street Fighter YouTube channel. That number is particularly notable considering the trailer has only been available for around a day. For context, Ingrid's gameplay trailer, which was released on April 22nd, currently sits at 697,000 views.

Yasmine's appeal seems to have cut across demographics, with both newer and older players reacting positively. Even those who may not find her playstyle appealing have still praised her overall design.

Yasmine is shaping up to be a rushdown character with some moves that seem reminiscent of Ibuki from Street Fighter and even Chipp from Guilty Gear.

She will be released in August, and Capcom has confirmed that she will kick off Season 4. That also means her arrival will come alongside a major balance patch that will affect every character in the game.
