Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh hosts the inaugural edition of the Esports World Cup - a two-month-long event in more than twenty games. Among those, there are two fighters: Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6. And it's SF that had its event this weekend.
An incredible amount of strong players qualified for the event in the past several months. Many of them were eliminated in the group stages, like Punk, MenaRD, Tokido, and the others. In the end, it all came down to top 8 on Sunday.
The event's format had the players compete in the first-to-5 matches. In the end, the Grand Final of the event was Xiao Hai vs. Kawano - M. Bison vs. Akuma. Xiao Hai won the set 5:2, making a loud statement that he's great not only in the King of Fighters, but in Street Fighter as well.
