XCC Is Disqualified From Tekken World Tour
Bandai Namco immediately responds.

All the fans of Tekken competition were watching Thaiger Uppercut this past weekend, and while the quality of matches made for great watch, it also came with a bit of a scandal.

Alongside the storied Tekken veterans, many newcomers came out for the TWT event, with XCC being one of them. His first international tournament.

After a great run and a win over Yagami, he was set to compete in the Top 8, but he was immediately disqualified.

Both players and spectators were rather confused, even Harada immediately jumped in to inquire what happened, and then Bandai Namco posted their official response.

Being from Chinese, XCC was simply not allowed to compete. Steps could've been taken to warn him in advance, his Start.gg profile doesn't exactly hide the location. Instead, we got a pretty anti-climactic entry into top 8 and a community outrage.

Even though it's understandable that the legal issues can significantly complicate things, it's also why people want more oversight. If a player cannot compete, they shouldn't have to spend their time and money to attend the event, only to get banned at the very end.

Several players have expressed their support for XCC and that they wish to see him in future tournaments. It's clear that he has the love for the game, but for now, it seems like Chinese players will be barred from competing in TWT.
