Would You Play a One Piece Game by Arc System Works?

CEO of the development company hints at this possibility

Fans of anime fighting games are on the verge of being overexcited after an interview with Minoru Kidooka on IGN. Sure, the conversation touched on many interesting things, such as the focus of ArcSys on Guilty Gear Strive and attempts to prevent any competition between this game and BlazBlue. But somehow, many of us just skip everything else and see only the possibility of a One Piece fighting game by this legendary Japanese studio.

We want it — no doubt about this! Arc System Works has a great tradition of taking a popular franchise and creating excellent fights within this specific universe. Each of such projects perfectly reflects the original atmosphere and fills the experience with well-elaborated fighting mechanics.

One Piece would be such an awesome next step. In fact, Arc System Works already did that (to some extent) — One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum for Nintendo 3DS.

Further cooperation with Bandai Namco would be such a gift for the FGC.

But let’s hold our horses. What did Minoru Kidooka actually say?

It’s intriguing! It wasn't a strict “No,” which is very promising. It wasn’t a clear “Yes” either — but to be honest, such an answer is rather impossible before the official announcement. We at DashFight are keeping our fingers crossed.

What type of One Piece fighting game would you like to get? Should it be a team-based madness in the style of DBFZ? Would you prefer something more classic, like DNF Duel? Should the developers add simplified controls like in Granblue Fantasy Versus?
