What DF happened last week? Jul 11 - Jul 17
Everything you need to know about the last week in the FGC

Another week passed and brought a handful of notable events for us to cover. DashFight once again prepared an all-in-one news feed in case you missed something, so sit back and enjoy!

Multiversus open beta

Starting July 26, everyone will be able to enjoy the upcoming free-to-play fighting. Multiversus open beta will start next week on all platforms and with full cross-play support. Exclusive early access to the open beta will begin even earlier, on July 19th.  Also, the dev team showed a bit of gameplay footage of the Iron Giant, who will join the roster and be available to play in the upcoming open beta.

SF6 coming to Evo

Street Fighter 6, the anticipated upcoming title from Capcom, will be featured at Evo 2022 in August. Attenders of the fighting game convention will be able to play the beta of the game with four main characters - Ruy, Chun-Li, Luke, and Jamie. The developers also prepared some announcements, so that's another big reason to be excited about the event.

CGL expanding the roster

Last week Counter Logic Gaming announced that ApologyMan and Romolla joined their fighting game roster. ApologyMan, now a former beastcoast representative, is well-known for their DBFZ and Guilty Gear -Strive- display, and Romolla is a pro fighting game v-tuber, who's prominent in Guilty Gear -Strive-

Diaphone wins DNF Duel Invitational

A fresh anime fighter from Arc System Works, DNF Duel, has been released quite recently, and Esports Arena hosted a top-level Invitational tournament to draw additional attention to the title and boost the competitive energies around it. Many of the renown players took part in the tournament, including Kizzie Kay, K7 Showoff, Reynald, Diaphone, and others. It ended up with an impressive lower bracket run by Diaphone, who made a bracket reset in the grand final against Reynald and won the whole thing. You can check the full final placings down below.

CPT 2022 Asia Southeast

Another weekend of hot battles in Street Fighter V took place in Southeast Asia this time. Brandon Chia, a Singaporean player, was really dominant through the whole tournament and won a ticket to the next Capcom Cup against LacunaC, who made a strong run through the losers side, taking down Xian and b3lLz on the way.

DBFZ World Champion

Dragon Ball FighterZ World Championship Finals finally took place last weekend in Paris, France. Best players from the whole world came to fight for the title, but it once again ended up with an everlasting France vs USA rivalry. Wawa was absolutely dominant through the whole Top 8 bracket, not dropping a single game, and he's been crowned champion in the end after 3-0'ing Nitro for the second time in the Grand Final. That concluded the previous season of competitive DBFZ. however, the next one is just around the corner, with the first DBFZ World Tour 2022 tournament taking place at the upcoming Evo 2022.
