The Game Awards

The Game Awards ceremony happened yesterday night, with dozens of announcements, trailers, and lots of other exciting stuff regarding various upcoming video games, including certain fighters. However, a few days before, Ed Boon, Chief Creative Officer of NetherRealm Studios and the Mortal Kombat franchise, made a statement that, despite high anticipation, a new NRS game won't be announced during the ceremony, leaving the community heartbroken.

Meanwhile, MultiVersus by Player First Games won the Fighting Game of the Year award, leaving The King of Fighters XV, DNF Duel, JoJo Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, and Sifu behind.

Capcom also prepared something special for the ceremony and showed a trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter 6, showcasing new and returning characters to join the roster, locations, and minigames. And we also have a release date - mark June 2, 2023, in your calendars since another fight is coming our way.

A highly anticipated trailer for Tekken 8 has also been revealed during the ceremony, showing a mix of story and gameplay footage and a glimpse of who will be in the game's base roster.
