Weibo Gaming Sign Veteran Poongko For Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves

Lee Chung-gon, otherwise known as Poongko, has signed on with Weibo Gaming to represent the organization in Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves for the 2025 season. 

Poongko is a legendary player from South Korea who was well known for his Street Fighter 4 mastery, especially with the character, Seth. He was involved in some of the most legendary matches and has proven himself in other games, including King Of Fighters, and Tekken. 

Poongko has been quick to pick up CotW, and with a potentially huge competitive scene on the horizon for the game, Weibo Gaming have been quick to seize the opportunity. 

In their statement on social media, WBG welcomed Poongko, saying, "We’re excited to announce that @efpoongko has officially joined WBG Fatal Fury Division!

"As a legendary player who has claimed countless championship titles across multiple fighting games:

— SSF4AE , seizing three championship trophies!

— USF4 , securing four championship crowns!

"From <Street Fighter X Tekken> <The King of Fighters XIII><Street Fighter V> to <Tekken 7: Fated Retribution>, Poongko has proven his dominance across generations of fighting games through one stellar performance after another.

"Today, joining hands with WBG, he raises his fists once more to embark on a new chapter."

Poongko joins other titans in the FGC, including MenaRD and Diaphone who have all signed up with Weibo Gaming for the season. It will be great to see the 39-year-old traveling and competing again. 

I wonder if we'll get a return of shirtless Poongko.
