Virtua Fighter 6 Might be Announced at The Game Awards 2023

Virtua Fighter is one of the oldest fighting games around and is rightly considered to be a classic. But, the last iteration of the game was Virtua Fighter 5 but that was way back in 2006 which is almost 20 years ago now. 

But, there is reason to believe that something might be brewing in that regard as Sega have been sending some mysterious mails to gaming influencers. Two huge influencers, Curiousjoi and Maximillian Dood, received letters from Sony which cryptically say 'New Era, New Energy' and gives direction that they tune in to the Game Awards on the 7th of December. 

Virtua Fighter is a classic and there have been calls to bring back the game and considering how many of the classic games have been getting new iterations this year, it would be great for another game to be added to the ranks. 

Street Fighter 6 was released in June, Mortal Kombat 1 came out in September, while Tekken 8 is expected in January 2024. These releases have been seen to be a boon for fighting games in general and there is even talk about a rennaissance for this niche gaming category. 

The Game Awards will take place on the 7th of December 2023 starting at 4:30pm PT.
