Virtua Fighter 5 Selected For Evo Japan and Frosty Faustings Mainstage

It was an exciting night for the FGC at The Game Awards as Tekken 8 won in the best fighting game category, while it was announced that a new Virtua Fighter was coming. After years of speculation, the 3D Sega fighter has finally made a return. 

It was also announced that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., a remaster of Virtua Fighter 5 which  was released in 2006, will be coming out in January 2025. 

It no time at all, it was also announced that the game had been picked for the mainstage of two of the biggest tournaments— Evo Japan and Frosty Faustings. 

Frosty Faustings will take place in January while Evo Japan will hold in May and will host a Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. 5-man team battle which a lot of people are already looking forward to. 

Virtua Fighter was a beloved title that was the first 3D fighting game way before Tekken became known for its 3D graphics and would later become the poster child for that style of development.
