Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O was at Evo 2025 again, and the winner was Akani Shiwapo, who defeated Itabashi Zangief in the Grand Final to take home a memorable victory. The top 8 of the event was an all-Japanese affair with only Yellowtail from the USA coming from somewhere else.

Itabashi Zangief tried to throw a spanner in the works as he first fell to Akani in the winners' final, but made his way back into Grand Final in hopes of upsetting Akani. It was not to be as Akani got the win again and sealed the ultimate victory.
