Tsurugi Revealed for UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes

UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes, or simply UNI2, is inching closer and closer to release, so it was about time for them to reveal a new character, after showing off Kaguya a month prior.

Tsurugi is a member of EGF, a group of student vigilantes who have awakened to special powers and now use them to fight off evil. His gameplay might look familiar to Melty Blood players. Those who joined in with Type Lumina will see a resemblance to Mash, while older ones might get a whiff of Riesbyfe.

However, outside all of them having a pretty similar weapon, Tsurugi seems to be a more dynamic character of the three, being able to skate on his shield and a fast shield bash. That said, his actual dash speed seems just below average, and his air dash doesn't seem to carry an awful lot of momentum.

UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes will be releasing on January 25. With Kaguya and Tsurugi revealed, there's only one more character left - Kuon. Following this pattern, we should see him around the middle of November. Perhaps French-Bread will follow a promotion strategy similar to Type Lumina, and also start showing off some versus matches prior to release.
