Project L's executive producer Tom Cannon shared some of the insights and impressions from the games first Evo booth apperance
The fighting games community was pleasantly surprised in the lead-up to this year's Evo with the inclusion of Project L as one of the booths with a playable demo to boot. The news also came with the announcement that the game would be moving towards a duo-play mode, working alongside the assist system.
In the blog entry, Tom Cannon, the game's director and executive producer, speaks about the experience and reason for bringing the still-in-development game into the premier arena of fighting games without a release date announced as of yet. He also goes into more detail about some of the feedback he and the team received from the play sessions at their booth. Including a short discussion as to a potential issue with visual clutter.
Overall, Tom sounds proud of the work he and his team achieved stating in the blog:
This was our most comprehensive check-in to verify that we’re on the right track. I’m super pumped about where the game is now, and from your reactions at Evo, it looks like you are too! We have a strong foundation to iterate from, and now thanks to all of your feedback we have some clear next steps to make the game even better.
