When it comes to online fighting game tournaments, you'll hardly find a more beloved series than ICFC. When the pandemic made offline events too dangerous, ICFC swooped in with weekly online tournaments with great production, commentary, and even prizes. High level competition for just about every major title, every single week, for literal years.

It came to a stop in 2024, much to community's disappointment, but it was all for a good reason. Offline events started to come back, many other online events were popping up too. ICFC's goal was achieved, but they did promise that they would come back at some point, and it seems like that point is now.

On his channel, Spooky announced that ICFC is back. Much the last time, they're back with a clear goal. While the original ICFC made up for the lack of offline and even online tournaments, it will now aim to help with the modern problem of offline events becoming less accessible.

The new iteration of ICFC will utilize the talents of ten/o, Spooky, MajinObama, FunkyP, and others to support in-person events in any way they can. This includes broadcasting, archiving through VODs, promotion, help with sponsorships, and more.

They've already reached out to several events and have been contacted by some others, and the operations should ramp up come April.

There's a lot to look forward to for the FGC.
