Tekken 8 Has Surpassed 2 Million Sales Since Launch

All the major fighting game titles have released new games over the last year with Street Fighter 6 coming out in June 2023, Mortal Kombat 1 came out in September and Tekken 8 came out a little under a month ago in January 2024. 

Of the three, Tekken 8 seems to be doing the biggest numbers sales wise as it has been reported that the game has over two million copies sold in under three weeks, a feat that took Street Fighter 6 almost two months. 

According to a video game journalist, Benji-Sales, this number is more than Bandai was expecting at this moment in time. With numbers like this, you can see Tekken 8 surpassing Tekken 7 in sales. 

This has, of course, led to the very common comparison between fans arguing whose game of choice is best. 

Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 are also enjoying very good viewership on Twitch and with all the numbers, it is safe to say that this is a really good time for fighting games.
