Tekken 8: Harada Responds To Genmaji Temple DLC Backlash
The Tekken 8 developer has come out to explain things to fans

Following a recent update, Tekken 8 released a new stage, Genmaji Temple, but raised the ire of fans when it was discovered that the use of the stage was behind a paywall. Furthermore, this was also not included in the season pass meaning that players who bought the year one pass still have to pay to unlock Genmaji Temple.

Fans have not taken this well and have voiced their discontent. It has also been discovered that both players need to own the stage before it can be used in a ranked match or in a tournament setting.

Katsuhiro Harada has released a statement on the issue which he posted on social media in both Japanese and English to clarify the situation and make an apology to the fanbase.

Harada explained that the situation has occurred because of the differences between the development studio and the publishing company. This was a system not in place while Tekken 7 was around, and with Harada on the development side, he was unable to influence pricing decisions from the publishing side.

He apologized to fans explaining that he feels he was unable to manage things well enough and feels somewhat responsible for the situation.

Fans seem to have nothing but admiration for Harada instead focusing their discontent with the more corporate side of the company.

It remains to be seen if there will be any compensation to fans.
