Tekken 8: Harada Promises to Deal With Ranked Boosters
The Tekken 8 director has spoken sternly on the issue of cheating in the game

Tekken 8 director Katsuhiro Harada has claimed that the game's development team is hard at work to deal with instances of cheating in ranked mode.

This came after several complaints from players that some of the top ranked players are boosting to attain their ranks.

Harada made this known while commenting on a tweet where someone showed off a mod of Heihachi and the Tekken director joked that the modder was now forver banned. He quickly explained that he wasn't being serious, but was definitely taking a hard stance against cheaters in the game.

Boosting and plugging are cheating terms used for players who manipulate their ranked scores illegally. It has been a problem for ages and was a huge problem in Tekken 7. Boosters will typically play the same person, or find a way to take control of the secondary chaarcter to ensure they get the win and therefore, get points they shouldn't. Meanwhile, pluggers are players who disconnect from the game before the scores are tallied to ensure they don't lose points.

There has been no solution so far, but with Harada's promise, it is hoped that something can be done about it.
