Tekken 7 Patch Ver 5.01 is Live
Among the expected nerfs, the update sprinkles in a few buffs

The sudden Tekken 7 patch that Bandai Namco announced last week is finally live, so without any delay, let's look into what it brings to us!

Those who were expecting a massive patch on the scale of what we got in august might be disappointed, as this follow-up update is much lighter on the changes, focusing only on bug fixes and pinpoint changes to five characters.

  • Akuma - The recovery of WR3 has been increased by 3 frames. A bug that guaranteed d1 on some characters after wall stun has also been fixed.
  • Armor King - The Rage Drive, f,n,d,df1+2(hold), will leave opponents slightly closer on hit to make reaching them with a throw more consistent.
  • Feng - As expected, Feng was hit a bit harder than the rest. He no longer gets a guaranteed hit after Kenpo 2, and Kenpo 3 is now -16 on block, making it much riskier. Shoulder tackle also had its hitbox reduced, making it harder to hit downed opponents.
  • King - WR3, King's running knee attack was previously neutral on block and will now give him +3, allowing King to apply further pressure.
  • Law - To make his Rage Drive slightly better, it will now come out faster when done during a Dragon Charge stance.

There's also a massive universal change that buffs side-roll wakeup option after the wall hit. Players are already noticing that it has removed some of the incredibly strong setups at the wall.
