Fergus's Lucky Chloe Guide

Lucky Chloe is easily one of the most divisive newcomers in Tekken 7's base roster, from her outfit and voicelines, to her general playstyle. Even though most would agree that she's nowhere near the top, Lucky Chloe is still a great pick and a fearsome character to fight against thanks to some oh her strengths.

On that front, Fergus has your back once again, with a guide that will introduce you to the basics of Lucky Chloe.

Chloe's Best Buttons

  • 1 - Lucky Chloe's jab is just ok on its own, but the follow-ups make it stand out.
    • 1,2 - This is a high-mid string with decent tracking on the second hit, meaning that it will hit opponents who try to crouch under your jabs.
    • 1,2,1+2 - Once your opponent is frustrated with 1,2, you can throw out this string, which is a -2 on block high that will give you a full combo on CH.
    • 1,2,1 - To complement the 1+2 high, you also have this mid wall bounce which is only -11.
    • 1,2,2 - This string could serve a similar purpose to 1,2,1, but it's a bit too slow, so your opponents can react to it.
  • df1 - The tracking on Chloe's df1 is poor, but it's quite a nice poke with solid range.
    • df1,3 - The low follow-up and a natural combo on hit. You can throw this out if you feel like the opponent will try to press after blocking df1. This string will have people on the constant lookout for the low, granting you some mental frame advantage.
  • df3 - Quick mid poke with great range and tracking in one direction.
    • df3,2 - If you think your opponent will press something slow after blocking, you can do this follow-up to score a CH launch.
    • df3,3 - Your main whiff punisher.
  • 4 - Safe i12 mid that tracks really well. It's not a magic 4, but it will give you a nice +7 on CH.
  • b4 - Your primary CH tool that does a lot of damage. At +8 on hit, it frametraps into itself.
  • b1+2 - A rare safe on block power crush at -8. Particularly strong at the wall since it jails and wall-splats.
  • ub/u/uf3 - The infamous Chloe hopkick. It's deceptively evasive, and a well-spaced neutral hopkick can be tough to punish for most characters.
  • d4 - Solid low. Even though it's minus and doesn't do much damage, its speed, reach, and tracking will make it annoying for your opponents to deal with.
  • d3 - Another very evasive move and a nice low at i16.
  • db3 - Low poke with good damage and speed. It also transitions into her signature stance, allowing you to pick an appropriate follow-up depending on the situation.
  • FC df1 - Plus on hit low, which becomes a launcher on CH. To complement her crouch pressure, Chloe can use WS4 or FC df2, a homing mid that grants her a +15 frame advantage.
  • WR 3 - Your primary approach tool. Deals good damage, and it's +6 on block. If you hit it really deep, you can also get a follow-up in the dash up b1.
  • WR 3+4 - Chloe's hell sweep, which complements her WR 3.

Cali Roll

The unofficial name for Chloe's rollback move out of the backturn stance and particularly the damaging and evasive f3+4,3+4 launcher out of it. It leads to absurdly high damage, making opponents afraid to challenge it. You get a lot of mental frame advantage out of this move, which allows you to do the empty roll and then go into your pressure. If you're especially good on reactions, you can even use this move as a punish after visually confirming that your opponent whiffed or did a move that gets crushed by the Cali Roll.

Staple Combos

  • uf3 > df3 > df2431 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • b4 CH > b3+4 > BT f3+4,3+4 > df33 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • df24 > df2431 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • BT f3+4,3+4 > df2431 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • FC df1 CH > df3 > df2431 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • ws14 > df3 >df2431 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • Rage Drive (hold back) > ws2431 s! > ff4,3+4,4
  • ff3 w! > 1 > df1 > 3,4

Strengths and Weaknesses

Chloe's damage output is quite high, especially from some specific combo starters. Her poking is solid as well, even though her tracking is lacking.

In terms of weaknesses, her lows are relatively poor, and as mentioned before, she doesn't have the best tracking.

She's not a great character overall, but you can still make her work and rob people blind.
