Tekken 7 Evo 2023 Results: Arslan Ash is Inevitable
Fourth Evo title for the Pakistani legend

There’s this sense of dread when certain athletes take the field in their respective sports. Even the top players can have the wind taken out of their sails when they see true greatness against them. People knew they were doomed when playing against Lionel Messi. Michael Jordan used to decide the outcome of the matches by himself. Nowadays, Max Verstappen is pretty much unbeatable in Formula 1. We have such a guy in Tekken. It’s Arslan Ash, and he’s inevitable.

This weekend, he won his 4th Evo title, and there was pretty much no doubt that he would do it from the beginning. No disrespect to any other player, he has this aura of invincibility around him. And while yes, many would argue that Tekken’s overall GOAT is Knee, specifically for Tekken 7, you just can’t go past Arslan Ash.

He transcends metas, characters, and opponents. He’s the tip of the spear that his region, Pakistan, is right now. The strongest player from the strongest region.

In the first round of the top 6, ULSAN made Arslan work for his win. We were close to the upset, but the Pakistani player clutched it out. Then he beat AO twice, once in the Winners, and once in the Grand Finals.

One of the major highlights of the event was Genghis D0n, who, at his very first Evo, was incredibly close to getting into the top 3. It wasn’t enough, but many much more seasoned players can’t brag about top 4. Hopefully, he’s not discouraged by this and will make it back to this stage again.

Top 6 for Tekken 7 at Evo 2023 looks like this:

  • 1. Arslan Ash

  • 2. AO

  • 3. ULSAN

  • 4. Genghis D0n

  • 5. Anakin

  • 5. Meo-IL

This year, Arslan has already won at Evo Japan, Combo Breaker, and now Evo. His winning record as Zafina is 76%, and his Kunimitsu isn’t much worse either, 72%. Just check out his stats on our website:

His final, ultimate obstacle this season is going to be the Tekken World Tour Finals. And you just can’t name anyone as a favorite over him.
