Following the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation’s release in North America, a list of the most successful games on the platform has been published.

The list, compiled by video game industry analyst Mat Piscatella, features two rankings: one based on revenue generated and the other on total units sold.

Gran Turismo dominated both charts, with the original game taking the top spot in revenue and Gran Turismo 2 leading in overall sales.

Fighting game fans will be pleased to know that Tekken 3 also made the cut, ranking ninth on the all-time most-purchased PlayStation games list. Since its release in 1997, Tekken 3 has sold nearly 8.5 million units worldwide.

Notably, it was the only fighting game to appear on the list, a testament to its enduring legacy. At a time when several other fighters were competing for attention, Tekken 3 cemented itself as a true classic and continues to be remembered as one of the greatest fighting games ever released.
