Team Joey Fury Wins Inaugural Sajam Tekken Slam

Fighting game commentator and streamer, Sajam, has hosted his first Tekken tournament called Sajam Tekken Slam which pitted several newbies and streamers together with experienced coaches to face each other and get a win.

The event was a success and the winners were Team Joey Fury which comprised of Imaqtpie, Shiphtur, Emily Wang, robcdee and the captain and coach, Joey Fury. 

They defeated Team Brawlpro in the finals to win. 

The event was viewed by over 100,000 people across different platforms with 35,000 coming from Sajam's stream. This meant that the event was an unmitigated success and shows that such a concept, which has already proved popular in Japan, can work in the United States too. 

The two coaches whose teams made the grand final won trips to Evo and Sajam went on to explain that everything that wasn't a prize from a sponsor was going to be coming out of pocket as he feels this would be good for fighting games in general even though he admitted that he isn't a Tekken player per se. 

Hopefully, the success of Sajam Tekken Slam will inspire others to do other similar events that will only help the FGC grow.
