The Variations system in MK11 gave the players a chance to incorporate various special moves into their optimal combos, which made the game more interesting at the expense of locking you out of certain moves that those variations didn’t include. In Mortal Kombat 1, that system was abandoned, and all the characters have the entirety of their moveset innately. This time around, however, we have a Kameo system that can complement the characters’ strengths or shore up their weaknesses.
