Street Fighter Movie’s Final Trailer Showcases Iconic Moves From Games

The upcoming Street Fighter movie has put out a final trailer ahead of its October 16 premiere.

The trailer is a clever 85-second compilation of some of the moves that exist in the game’s long history and have been recreated in the movie. Movies based on games, especially fighting games, try to pay homage to the source material by making use of iconic moves from it. However, in times past, the technology available didn’t always make this possible. But a 2026 movie has a better chance of recreating some of Street Fighter’s most popular moves as faithfully as possible.

The trailer showcased iconic moves such as the Shoryuken, Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, Spinning Bird Kick, Hundred Hand Slap, and so many more. Even iconic normals like Dhalsim’s Karma Kick were also recreated.

From the trailers, we can glean that the movie is looking to create a fun experience for fans that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but also honors the game as much as possible.

The Street Fighter movie was in danger of falling into limbo following the departure of the original directors, Danny and Michael Philippou, in 2024, before they got Kitao Sakurai in 2025. There were also some issues when the distribution deal between Legendary Pictures and Sony Pictures expired, and the movie was taken off the theatrical calendar before Paramount Pictures swooped in to save the film and set it for a 2026 release.

It is hoped that the Street Fighter movie is also able to generate momentum for the game, with Street Fighter 6 doing so well at the moment.
