The upcoming Street Fighter movie got another trailer, which was released yesterday evening.
The movie, which comes out on October 16, has been highly anticipated by fans of the successful franchise.
The trailer gave us some more details about what the movie will be about. From it, we can glean that Ryu won the first World Warrior tournament and then disappeared for a long time, with no intention of participating in the second one. Ken, who has long lived under Ryu’s shadow and is in some sort of funk where he can’t use all his abilities, enters the second tournament.
In the midst of all this, we can also glean that Chun-Li, who went out of her way to recruit Ryu back into the tournament, is looking to take down M. Bison, who is the one who put on the tournament in the first place.
The trailer also featured a lot of the special moves that fans have come to love over the years in Street Fighter, including E. Honda’s Headbutt and Hundred Hand Slap.
The movie is being distributed by Paramount Pictures and is directed by Kitao Sakurai, best known for his 2021 movie Bad Trip. The movie looks to embrace a lot of the campy elements that made the 1994 movie so well-loved. The movie was filmed in IMAX, and we should get even more details when the Tokyo Game Show gets underway, as the Street Fighter movie will provide new updates.
