Street Fighter 6 Wants to Prop Up Asia With Season 4
Much of the upcoming season was designed to appeal to fans across Asia.

If you've been wondering why Year 4 character line-up for Street Fighter 6 is so odd, the director Takayuki Nakayama and producer Shuhei Matsumoto offer a compelling answer in the latest video from Evo.

While thinking of how to make the game more fun, they also considered how to avoid stagnation. Part of this comes in the form of appealing to new players and new places, and in this case, the broader Asia region.

Yasmine is the latest addition to the roster, and a very well received representitive for SEA and Philippines in particular. In part due to extensive research from developers, but also some people on the team being very knowledgable about the country and its culture.

However, aside from Tifa making her way from Final Fantasy VII, this season pass will also have two more Asian characters, with Arjun being a new rep for India and Bosch coming from a fictional region that more or less represents Nepal.

Aside from that, they stated that it's been a while since they added an original character, and with how many younger players are getting into Street Fighter 6, they wanted some characters that could grow alongside these new players.
