The outfit looks great, but can we have some more cosmetics please?
Capcom’s spotlight ahead of the Tokyo Game Show has ended, and while there was some information on Street Fighter 6, there wasn’t much.
The biggest piece of news was the reveal of C. Viper’s Outfit 4. The outfit is said to be a part of the ‘Swimsuit Series’, which some characters have already received, including:
- A.K.I
- Luke
- Manon
- Dee Jay
- Elena
- Cammy
- Jamie
- Kimberly
- Chun-Li
Viper’s outfit is a black and red number that looks incredible on the character and is true to her style. The outfit will come out along with the upcoming character, Arjun, in October.
Speaking of Arjun, the spotlight also gave a little bit more information about the character. For instance, we got to see a small glimpse of how he uses recoverable damage. There’s a short clip, starting from 34:17, that shows his battle with Rashid, where he does grey life damage when his attacks are blocked, even if the character isn’t in Burnout. This grey life will not be recoverable if the opponent is hit. He also has a command grab that only deals grey life damage.
There was also a small glimpse of his pre-game faces at 35:02, before the fight begins.
There were a few more announcements, including the addition of special challenger screens done in conjunction with the upcoming Street Fighter movie, which comes out on October 16.
The reception on social media towards the outfit has been mostly lukewarm, with fans not minding the design but being unsatisfied with the rate at which the cosmetics have been rolled out for characters. So far, only 11 characters have up to four outfits out of 31 playable characters, which is a tad slow for a game that is entering its fourth year
Street Fighter 6 has been a huge success so far, and even with the problems fans have, it is still on course to become the most profitable Street Fighter game of all time.
