Sony PlayStation announced earlier today the company would be rolling out a new PlayStation 5 model ahead of the 2023 holiday season. In their press release, Sony claims a reduction of weight of almost 20%, along with new dimensions of Approx. 358 × 96 × 216 mm(width × height × depth).

Besides its form factor, according to the specifications listed by Sony, none of the important internal components have changed, with an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 still powering the machine alongside an AMD Radeon RDNA 2 GPU. Like the normal PlayStation 5, this new model also features 1TB of storage at the lighting-fast speed of 5.5GB/s Read Bandwidth.
