Sony Layoffs 8% of Its Workforce Worldwide & Closes Studios in the UK

The international giant Sony announced its gaming branch, Sony Interactive Entertainment, would be closing down studios and letting go of roughly 8%, 900 people, from its staff. Among the teams affected is Supermassive games from the UK.

The announcement also sparked a discussion due to the stark difference in standards between those being let go in places like the European Union and Japan versus the immediate notice of termination US staff received.
