As spotted by Automaton, it seems like SNK is not doing too well, as their financial report for the fiscal year ending in December of 2025 shows a massive operating loss of $125 million even despite a 10% increase in sales.
Both numbers are no doubt heavily impacted by the release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in February of 2025, with the game getting absolutely absurd level of marketing by fighting game standards.
In spite of the investments, it wasn't reflected in player numbers, and evidently the 10% sales increase is hardly proportion to what was spent to achieve them.
Facing insolvency, the performance of the Art of Fighting and Samurai Shodown RPG might play a big role in SNK's future, especially with VS Studio also working on another project under SNK.
Even if Saudi Arabian government has deep pockets, it seems unlikely that they would continue to accept constant financial losses when their oil money is rapidly drying up.
