Shinobism Gaming Announce Disbandment
After 9 strong years, Momochi says goodbye

Shinobism Gaming, a Japanese fighting game esports team, has announced that it will be disbanding after five years of operation and nine years of existence.

In a message to everyone, the team owner and leader, Yusuke Momochi, stated that the team will end its operations at the very end of February 2025 which is almost exactly five years to the time the team commenced operations.

There was no reason given for the end of operations.

The statement reads as follows:

"Thank you very much for always supporting Shinobism Gaming. We would like to inform you that Shinobism Gaming will end its team activities and disband on February 28, 2025.

"It has been about 5 years since Shinobism Gaming became a company, and it has been about 9 years since the predecessor, the disciple training project. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported the team and everyone who has supported us. . The players of Shinobism Gaming were a wonderful group of competitors, all of whom were kind and team-oriented, and worked hard together as friendly competitors.

"I am filled with countless wonderful memories, including participating in numerous domestic and overseas competitions and creating program projects with my team members. Thank you very much for supporting Shinobism Gaming so far. Thank you for your warm support until the end."

Shinobism Gaming started life as a sort of training facility for fighting game players, especially in the realm of Street Fighter where Momochi has won two Evo Championships. They trained up up-and-coming talent, the most notable perhaps being Higuchi who later moved to Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto.

There was a lot of positivity to Momochi's post especially from current and former players. Higuchi thanked them for their support for him while Yamaguchi and Fujimura, players currently signed to the team, also praised the team for all they have done for the fighting game community.

It is unclear what this will mean for Momochi and his wife, Chocoblanka, who have been running the team together since 2020 and whether they will join other teams, or some other venture. As for the players with them like Yamaguchi and Fujimura, it is clear that they will fine as former players like Haitani, Eita, and Otani have all found other homes pretty quickly.

Shinobism Gaming has been an asset to the Japanese FGC and it is hoped that whatever Momochi decides to take on next will be great.
