One of the protagonists from Alien vs Predactor beat-em-up is going to be playable in the fan-made fighting game.
One of the most ambitious fan projects in fighting games is back with a major update. It's only a trailer for now, but the game will feature playable Linn Kurosawa from Alien vs Predator: Arcade.
In Capcom's rather underappreciated beat-em-up, she's one of four playable characters alongside Major Dutch Schaefer and two predators, Warrior and Hunter. This isn't the movie version of Dutch, in case you're curious. Both him and Linn in this game are cyborgs made for the purpose of fighting xenomorphs and other extraterestrial threats (like an infected predator).
The fighting game version of her seems to live up to the spirit of the beat-em-up. Somewhat characteristic of the "later" games in the genre, Linn has an exceptionally active playstyle that doesn't doesn't have combos in the most traditional sense, but still revolves around constantly stringing together parts of her kit.
And it's a pretty damn big kit. Outside of normal attacks and strings, she can use different weapons, slide, dive kick, throw/air throw, rebounds, the jumping katana stab, and more, all of which is represented in her gameplay here.
The project is still very much Work In Progress, but it's clear that people behind it are putting some serious effort to deliver on the premise.
