SNK has announced the start of the final community beta test for the upcoming Steam version of Samurai Shodown. The purpose of this beta is to stress-test the improved rollback netcode before the game's official release.
The beta test began on October 13, 2023, and will continue indefinitely until SNK is satisfied with the netcode performance. Players are encouraged to participate to help identify any remaining issues.
Known bugs include problems with skipping intros, duplicated frames, visual glitches, and inconsistencies with the Rage Burst mechanic. SNK asks players to report any other technical problems through the support forum.
Steam users can right-click on Samurai Shodown, go to the Betas tab, and opt into the "Rollback Beta 3" branch to participate in the beta. This will prompt an update to the beta version, which can only match against other beta participants.
SNK thanks fans for their patience as the team continues working on polishing the netcode. They hope players will enjoy testing the improvements and provide feedback before the game's launch.
