The third rollback beta patch for Samurai Shodown has gone live. This patch aims to improve the online multiplayer experience through adjustments to the rollback netcode.
Critical changes in Beta 3 include the ability to control input delay values in online lobbies via the R1/L1 buttons. SNK hopes this will allow players to find their preferred responsiveness when playing matches online. Visual effect caching has also been tweaked to potentially assist with rematching the same opponents.
Other fixes are targeted at resolving bugs like missing counter UI elements during rollbacks and the red damage bar not decrementing correctly. SNK encourages players to report any other issues they discover while testing the beta.
Instructions are provided for joining the rollback beta branch on Steam; Players must opt into the "Rollback Beta 3" branch under the Betas tab in Samurai Shodown's properties. The beta can only match against others who have joined the same branch.
SNK thanks the community for their participation and looks forward to feedback on the patch as further improvements to the online experience are planned.
