The Samurai Shodown community is not very large and as of the latest update, there are fewer than 20 people playing the game on Steam. This means that without crossplay, the community is fragmented even smaller which makes it difficult to get games or invested in the game.

It is hoped that SNK will resolve the crossplay issue soon as it could breathe life into the game.
