Guinness World Record holder Ryan Hart has spoken about what he believes it takes to become a top-level fighting game competitor.
Hart is a veritable legend within the fighting game community, with over 450 tournament victories across multiple countries and various titles. Today, he works more as an interviewer and host for some of the biggest tournaments, including the Esports World Cup, Capcom Cup XI, and several others. Passionate about growing the fighting game community, Hart often shares advice for up-and-coming players through his social media platforms.
In a recent post, Hart once again offered insight. When asked, “How can I win a lot of tournaments?” he responded that it simply takes sacrifice. He explained that his success came from letting go of many things people his age would have enjoyed. He cited examples such as not going out to clubs, not buying designer clothes, and skipping trips with friends—all so he could dedicate himself to improving as a fighting game player. His career demonstrates that the sacrifices paid off.
