A major victory for the indie platform fighter
Barely a week after its worldwide release, Rivals of Aether II has sold over 100k copies on Steam. This is on top of the fact that I had already secured some $1 million in funding via kickstarted last year. Now the game is part of Offbrand's game publishing arm and seems to have successfully launched.
The platform fighter has also enjoyed attention from the genre's competitive scene, seeing as in Start.gg, it has already been featured in around 300 tournaments since the game's release, with some decent tournaments. Such as The Coinbox with 900 competitors, Conduit's gaming NA and EU brackets with 300+, and Luminosity's Make Moves in Miami drawing in nearly 100 in person players, a fourth that of SSBU's turnout.
