Rip and Spag Won't Be Commentating at TWT Finals
This milestone in Tekken's history will pass without some of its major community pillars

If you had to compile a list of the best Tekken commentators, Spag and Rip would be guaranteed a spot. Rip has been a commentator for longer than some Tekken pros have been alive (can you believe he's so old, wow!), and the experience he has acquired over the years led to commentary that made it easy for countless new to understand what they're watching and why it's so cool.

Meanwhile, even if some might not be fans of Spag's banter or penchant for inciting healthy rivalry, nobody can't deny how invaluable he was when it came to introducing Pakistan as a scene, as a region, as a community of strong-willed fans of the game. Not to mention, he's one of the few people to try and keep the rivalries going, and it's it a lot more fun to watch matches when there's an extra layer of competition going on? The EU vs US exhibition is still one of the coolest things to happen in recent years.

Unfortunately, none of this was enough to guarantee them a spot on commentary for Tekken World Tour Finals, a momentous occasion that doesn't just mark the end of TWT 2023, but also serves as a goodbye for a game that we've loved, played, watched, and united around for so many years. Forgive the excessive dramatics, but it's hard to understate the sentimental value of the event.

This is not a slight against anyone that will be commentating, Tekken has enjoyed plenty of fantastic casters, but it's a shame that we will not be seeing some of the key people on the panel.
