Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 Desync Bug Has Been Fixed

Since the recent release of Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers, Code Mystics have released two small patches that fix rather important issues.

The first one, released on October 1, addressed issues with the game's hidden character – Alfred. Racking up wins will now count towards the relevant achievement, and his behavior in invited matches should match other characters.

Today's patch is far more significant, and introduces a fix to a somewhat specific desync issue, you can find the full list of changes below:

Fixed a bug where guests in online matches might see the lobby language reset to their Windows system language, which could lead to desyncs
Fixed a desync when invited to a 2P lobby and your last host settings didn't match the new host's settings
The new key art made for this release by the legendary Shinkiro has been added to the Gallery
Removed incomplete Spanish/Portuguese UI. RB2, the game, only supports English and Japanese. Traditionally, we only support languages in the UI that the original game supports, but some common Spanish/Portuguese text from prior releases were included. If Windows' default language was Spanish or Portuguese, the UI was sometimes switching to the incomplete translations that were present. This will no longer happen.

If desyncs continue to happen even after the patch, Code Mystics includes instructions for automatic desync reporting:

Right-click on RB2 in your library and select Properties
Select the "Betas" tab
In the "Beta Participation" dropdown, select "desynctest"
Have your opponent do the same steps
Play online matches
